  • Cohn Lifland Pearlman Herrmann & Knopf LLP partners, Peter S. Pearlman and Allen Susser, successfully represented the DCH Automotive Group with its approximately $20 million sale of a mixed-use development site to a partnership of real estate developers, LCOR and the Pinnacle Companies. The site will become the core of the Montclair Center Gateway Development Plan, in Montclair New Jersey which includes the building of 259 residential units, 571 parking spaces, 23,055 sq. ft. of office space and 22,340 of retail space. The transaction closed on May 9, 2013.
  • Cohn Lifland is pleased to announce and congratulates Associate Andrew Macklin on his appointment to a four-year term on the New Jersey Superior Court District IIA Ethics Committee.

  • Cohn Lifland is pleased to announce that Charles R. Cohen has been elected to the partnership as of January 1, 2013. Mr. Cohen's practice focuses on commercial litigation, employment law, fraud, insurance litigation, professional malpractice and real estate. He joined the firm in 2007.
  • Charles R. Cohen, Esq. successfully represented the executor of a contested Will and Trust before the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey against an appeal by two disinherited siblings, in a case involving a multi-million dollar estate.
  • Joseph A. Maurice gave the opening presentation at the Bergen County Bar Association Annual Dinner on Professionalism in the Law on October 17th. Mr. Maurice is a Trustee of the Bergen County Bar Association and the Bergen County Bar Foundation, and the immediate past Chair of the District IIA Supreme Court Ethics Committee.
  • Former Cohn Lifland Managing Partner, Albert L. Cohn, was posthumously awarded the 2012 Bergen County Bar Foundation award for Lawyer Achievement. Mr. Cohn was a member of the bar and an attorney at Cohn Lifland for 52 years. He passed away in December 2011.

  • Joseph A. Maurice was on Fox News Channel 9 on June 19, 2012 discussing the potential appeal of the sentence of Dharun Ravi. Mr. Ravi was found guilty of bias intimidation and other crimes in May in the Rutgers Spycam Trail.   • Joseph A. Maurice recently was a legal commentator for Channel 9 WWOR 10pm News commenting on the John Edwards mistrial/verdict. The former presidential candidate had been charged with accepting illegal campaign contributions and other related charges.
