Jeffrey W. Herrmann is included in the ranks of Securities Litigation/New Jersey attorneys in the January/February 2010 Corporate Counsel Edition/Superlawyers.
 
Mary Ann Stokes and Lisa McCauley Parles spoke on "Divorce and Special Needs Children" on October 22 at ARC's Wallace Street Center in Elmwood Park.  Topics included custody, child support, education, future planning among others.  
 
Lisa McCauley Parles presented a well-attended and very informative seminar on "Accessing Support Services for the Special Education Student" at the firm's Saddle Brook office on October 21.  This popular talk will be repeated on January 28.  See the Events section of the website to register.
 
Barry A. Knopf and Lisa McCauley Parles spoke at Autism NJ's 27th Annual Conference on October 9/10 on employment issues.  The event took place at the Atlantic City Convention Center and brought together over a thousand people.
 
Marc W. Garbar spoke on "Economy Alert! Planning for an Uncertain Future" at the Mahwah Chamber of Commerce on October 8.  He covered many issues related to employment law in the current economic climate. 
 
Lisa McCauley Parles presented an informative talk, also answering many questions, on "Tips for a Successful School Year for the Special Education Student" on September 22.  The seminar was held in the firm's Saddle Brook office. 
 
Jessie Osbun, personal assistant to Albert L. Cohn, marked 50 years with Cohn Lifland on September 21.  The firm joins together to congratulate Ms. Osbun on this remarkable achievement and thank her for her years of service to the firm.  
 

At the beginning of September, Javier Royal of Fordham Law School joined Cohn Lifland as a law clerk.  Mr. Royal summered at the firm in 2008.  On September 14, Denise Dimson Rekem joined the firm as an associate on a part time basis.  Ms. Rekem attended New York University School of Law and had worked at Weil Gotshall & Manges.  She will assist Lisa McCauley Parles on special education matters.

 
On October 1 Barry A. Knopf will discuss "The Litigation Process" in Lisa M. Parles' Rutgers MBA class taking place the fall semester at Hackensack Hospital.  The course is called "Law, Ethics and Public Policy."
 
A Record article , "Huge holes in oversight,"  published on August 16 described a Ponzi scheme that endured under regulator radar for 10 years.  Jeffrey W. Herrmann was quoted on aspects of the fraud.
