Kelly M. Purcaro is a Senior Attorney at the firm, practicing primarily in the areas of consumer class actions, business and commercial litigation.

She is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey, the State of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Representing individual clients and businesses through investigating claims, intensive discovery, motion practice, jury trials, and successful settlements, Mrs. Purcaro has specialized skills in the areas of complex litigation and consumer class actions.  In addition to extensive trial experience, Mrs. Purcaro has experience arguing before the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey on multiple consumer protection class actions, representing plaintiffs in national class actions and complex commercial litigation, and navigating through complex issues in multiparty litigation.  Mrs. Purcaro is a graduate of the Justice Morris Pashman Inn of Court, as well as a current member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bergen County Bar Association, and the Class Action Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mrs. Purcaro has appeared as a guest lecturer on class action topics at the New Jersey State Bar Annual Meeting and Convention, as well as various continuing legal education seminars hosted by the National Business Institute.

In addition, Mrs. Purcaro leads the firm’s pro bono efforts, providing trial representation for victims seeking protection through the Bergen County Alternatives to Domestic Violence Project.  Mrs. Purcaro has been included in the list of New Jersey Rising Stars by Super Lawyers in 2012, 2013 and 2017. She was also included in (201) Magazine’s list of Bergen County’s “Top Lawyers” in Commercial Litigation in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Prior to her litigation career in the private sector, Mrs. Purcaro held a clerkship with the Honorable Edith K. Payne in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.  Preceding her Appellate Clerkship, Mrs. Purcaro was the sole recipient in her class of the Carol and Paul Miller Scholarship at Rutgers University School of Law – Newark, maintaining a full tuition scholarship through academic excellence.

During law school, Mrs. Purcaro represented clients through the Child Advocacy Clinic in both the Family and Administrative Courts. Mrs. Purcaro served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Stanley R. Chesler in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey.  In addition, she was selected to spend a semester in the Netherlands studying law at Leiden University. Mrs. Purcaro also served as a Staff Editor for the Business Law Journal.

Prior to law school, Mrs. Purcaro obtained a Bachelor Degree from Rutgers University and a Masters in Social Work through the Rutgers Graduate School of Social Work. Mrs. Purcaro was the first MSW student accepted into the Eagleton School of Political Science Graduate Fellowship. After completing her graduate work, Mrs. Purcaro earned her License in Social Work (LSW) and enjoyed a diverse career as the Director of Government Relations for a non-profit law firm. During her tenure, Mrs. Purcaro completed a variety of professional publications, testified before the State legislature, and developed an extensive budget advocacy system.
